My Dad had a really serious health scare at the beginning of the year, so I was more thankful than ever to spend the afternoon with him on Father’s Day. It was even more special because we spent it at The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, where I spent many childhood summers running around and learning about America’s colorful history with my family.
Highlights of the day:
- Seeing artifacts, including a reconstructed grand staircase, from the Titanic Exhibition at The Henry Ford Museum
- Admiring the dreamy classic cars at the Motor Muster event in Greenfield Village
- Watching a few minutes of the Lah-De-Dahs play historic baseball
- Hearing the story behind the 1968 custom-made Ford Mustang Galaxy XL convertible my Dad had when he was 18*
It was an absolutely splendid afternoon and I’m so thankful I was able to spend it with just me and my Dad!
*We still need to have a chat about how I got stuck with a 1998 Ford Escort when I was 18
